Be Part of the Team:
Eye Project Uganda in
collaboration with other organisations including
Uganda UK Health Alliance (UUKHA), Helping
Uganda Schools (HUGS) and Abalon Trust are
working towards improving healthcare systems in
Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa.
We are composed of a
collection of medical, public health, academic,
and allied healthcare professionals who are very
passionate about healthcare and education
improvement in rural and urban East African
communities.
We
are collaborating with established organisations
in the UK, and Zimbabwe towards improving access
to healthcare.
The Eye Project Vision is to
attain excellence in ophthalmology, research,
education, patient care and be the leading
Ugandan Centre for cutting edge specialist
ophthalmic surgery.
The Ophthalmic team will
contribute to this project by reducing
blindness, impaired vision and common eye
problem rates such as cataracts, trachoma,
glaucoma, detached retina to the lowest levels
in Uganda compared to neighbouring countries
with similar units or hospitals. It is hoped
that the project can reduce avoidable blindness
in Uganda by more than 50% in the next 5 years.
We value a multi-disciplinary
approach and rich diversity in skills and
opinions working with leading international
institutions alongside local expertise. You and
your organisation can be part of "Team Eye
Project Uganda" too.
